Is your youth group, school, or organization looking for a new and exciting way to get involved in the community and to feel a part?

"Youth - Keys to Community" is a two-day workshop that guides young people on the fun and energizing path of Community Building. Youth have incredible strengths and talents to share with the community. This workshop will help young people recognize the gifts and assets they have and encourage them to connect these to the endless assets in their communities. Sharing and connecting with the community in positive and mutually beneficial ways opens the doors to a host of opportunities. Which door will your key open?

Day One - What can we do and where do we start?

  • The 'We' not 'I' - Team Building
  • The Building Blocks - What is Asset-based Community Building all about, and why is it important?
  • Having fun - How do you "R.A.F.F. it up"?
  • The Gift Exchange - What are our gifts and resources?
  • The Treasure Hunt - What are some of the resources in the community?
  • Success! - Stories from other youth groups.

Day Two - Making it happen!

  • A Path - Community Capacity Building and Asset Mapping© and the Six Steps to Capacity Success©
  • Learn it! and Try it! What are you going to do?
  • Making a plan - How do we get there?
  • Do it!! Putting thoughts into action.

The Cost

  • The cost of this workshop is $3000.00 for groups of 15 - 20 people.
  • A binder is also provided to each participant at an additional cost of $30.00.

The cost is negotiable and we can provide assistance in finding funding.
